Sessions
Before your session
The practical things worth knowing before we meet, from booking to how long everything takes.
What should we wear?
It genuinely depends on the shoot, the location and the light, so I give tailored advice to every client once we've talked about your session. As a starting point: choose soft, neutral or muted tones, avoid large logos and bold patterns, and coordinate rather than match. Comfort matters more than anything, especially for children.
What if someone has a bump, scratch or bruise before the shoot?
There is no need to worry or reschedule. I can and will edit out anything temporary like a bump, scratch or bruise, so your photographs still look their very best.
What about last minute stains on clothing?
The same applies. Small marks, stains or spills on outfits can usually be cleaned up during editing, so there is rarely any need to stress or change plans.
Where do sessions take place?
In the studio, outdoors in woodland, fields and beaches across South Wales, or at home for relaxed documentary sessions. I'll suggest locations that suit the season, the light and the people being photographed.
How long does a session last?
Sessions run from 15 minutes to 1 hour depending on the session. Seasonal mini sessions are 15 minutes and released in limited runs on Facebook and Instagram.
What if my children won't sit still?
That's completely normal and often where the best images come from. Sessions are led by the children, with plenty of play, movement and breaks. Nothing is forced and nothing is rushed.
When will we see the photographs?
Every image is hand edited, and galleries are delivered privately once that work is complete. Each gallery is professionally edited one by one so the final collection feels consistent and true to your session. I'll give you a clear timescale when you book so you always know what to expect.
What do we receive in our final gallery?
Your final gallery includes both colour and black-and-white versions of your edited images, so you can choose the feel that suits each photograph best. Every image is delivered at full resolution through a private online gallery.
Do you photograph newborns?
Yes. Newborn sessions are something close to my heart; I have many years of experience with babies and am a parent of three myself, so I take a baby-led and parent-led approach. We'll follow your little one's natural rhythms, keep the posing gentle, and never rush or force anything.
Can you work with children or adults with additional needs?
Absolutely. I have vast experience photographing children and adults with additional needs. I'm also an ALN parent myself, so I understand firsthand how important patience, flexibility and trust are. Sessions are relaxed and built around each person's pace and comfort. Many families tell me their children feel safe with me, which is why they keep coming back year after year.
Do you travel?
Yes. I regularly photograph in Cardiff, Newport, Caerphilly, Rhondda Cynon Taf, Bridgend, Swansea and right across South Wales.
Pricing
Pricing and packages
Simple, honest pricing with no surprises. Everything is discussed and agreed before you book.
Are there any hidden fees?
No. There are never any hidden fees. The price we agree before your booking is the price you pay, and it covers everything discussed for your session or wedding coverage.
What if I need extra edits after the gallery is delivered?
Every gallery is edited with a fine-tooth comb before it's sent to you. In fact, I've never had an additional editing request, because everything is discussed and agreed during the planning stage. However, if you did require further editing once the final gallery has been delivered, I charge £5 per image.
